1. Do I need an account to browse the cars?

No. You can browse every car and see the photos, the 360° view, and the full inspection report without registering. An account is only needed when you want to submit a price offer on a car.

2. Are these your elGarage's cars, or do they belong to other people?

Every car on the platform is owned by the person selling it. elGarage is a commercial broker between the seller and the buyer. We do not buy or own the cars. Our role is to inspect the car, list it, and manage the communication between you and its owner until the deal is done.

Are the cars inspected before they are listed?

Accepted Answer

Yes, without exception. The elGarage team visits the owner at the car's location and carries out a full on-site inspection before the listing goes live, and the inspection report is published with the listing so you can read it before you travel to see the car.

4. What exactly does the inspection cover?

Accepted Answer

The inspection covers the whole car: paint and exterior body reading, powertrain, steering and running gear, routine replacement parts, interior cabin and air conditioning, computer diagnostics, and an actual road test. It is carried out visually and by testing, using ELGARAGE equipment, without dismantling or removing any part, and it describes the condition of the car on the day of inspection.

5. Is the price shown on the listing what I actually pay?

Yes. The price shown on the platform is the final price of the car with nothing added to it. Ownership transfer costs at the traffic department are separate, as these are government fees and not ours.

6. I like a car — how do I reach you?

There are three ways, all on the car's own page: message us on WhatsApp, call us, or submit your price on the car and we will call you. Submitting a price is simply a way to start the conversation, not a commitment to buy. We contact the owner and come back to you with the answer.

7. Can I see the car in person and drive it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Contact us about the car you are interested in and we will arrange the viewing with its owner at a time that suits both sides. The viewing takes place with us present.

8. Can I reserve a car until I have the money ready?

Whether a car can be reserved differs from one car to another, depending on what its owner agrees to. Contact us about the car you are interested in, we will look into it and come back to you with a clear answer.

9. If a problem appears in the car after I buy it, who is responsible?

Accepted Answer

The sale takes place directly between the seller and the buyer. elGarage is a broker and is not a party to the contract of sale. The inspection report describes the condition of the car on the day of inspection, based on what is visible and testable. It is not a warranty and not a certificate that the car is free of internal or hidden defects. That is why we always recommend that you inspect the car yourself before you decide.

10. Are the photos on the listing of the actual car?

Yes. All the photos and the 360° view are taken of that specific car on the day of inspection by the ELGARAGE team. The only thing we cover is the number plate, with an ELGARAGE plate, to protect the owner's privacy.

11. Which governorates do you operate in?

Accepted Answer

The cars currently listed are in Alexandria and Cairo, but buying is not tied to where you are. If you are in another governorate and you like a car, contact us as normal and we will arrange the viewing and the rest of the steps for you.

1. Do you buy the car from me?

Accepted Answer

No. elGarage is a commercial broker. We do not buy or own cars. Our role is to inspect your car, list it professionally, and manage the communication and the offers until it reaches a serious buyer. The sale itself takes place directly between you and the buyer.

2. How do I sell my car with you?

Accepted Answer

You register your car through the app or the website and choose a place and time that suit you for the visit. The elGarage team comes to you, carries out the inspection and the photography, and discusses the price with you. The listing is then reviewed and published on the app and the website, and we receive all the offers and enquiries and bring them back to you.

3. Do I have to bring the car to you, or do you come to me?

We come to you. The inspection and the photography take place at the location you choose — home, work, or a garage — and you do not need to move the car.

4. What happens during the visit?

The elGarage team comes to you at the location you have chosen, carries out the full inspection of the car using its own equipment, photographs the car professionally and prepares the 360° view, reviews the car's paperwork with you, and discusses the right price for the market with you. At the end of the visit you sign the listing agreement in two copies, one of which stays with you.

5. How long does the visit take?

Roughly 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the condition of the car.

6. What do I need to prepare before the visit?

Accepted Answer

Three things: the car washed and cleared of personal belongings, the car licence to hand, and your national ID. If the car is in a closed garage or a dark space, it is better for it to be somewhere open so the photography comes out well.

7. Who decides the price of the car?

Accepted Answer

You do. We give you a pricing consultation based on market prices for the model and on the condition of your car after the inspection, but the decision in the end is yours alone.

8. Do you deduct anything from my price?

Accepted Answer

No. You set the price you want and you receive it in full with no deduction. The ELGARAGE commission is added on top of your price and is paid by the buyer. It is collected when the sale is completed, with an ELGARAGE representative present.

9. Is there a cost for listing my car?

Accepted Answer

Yes, 750 EGP paid once at the visit. It covers the full inspection of the car and the condition report, the professional photography and the 360° view, the pricing consultation, publication of the listing on the app and the website, and the management of all communication and offers with buyers until the car is sold.

10. If the inspection finds problems with the car, will you still list it?

The listing goes live as normal. Any finding that comes out of the inspection is recorded in the report and is visible to everyone who sees the car on the platform. That transparency works in your favour: it saves you the buyers who come to view the car and then withdraw, and it means anyone who does contact you already knows the condition of the car and is comfortable with it.

11. Can I withdraw my car and stop the listing?

Yes, at any time. Let us know and we will take the listing down.

12. What if I find a buyer myself?

Accepted Answer

If you reach a buyer yourself, with no connection to elGarage, you can sell to them with no commission. The commission is only due if the sale is made to a buyer who came to know the car through elGarage.

13. How does communication with buyers work?

Accepted Answer

All communication goes through elGarage. Your number and your details are never shown to buyers. We receive the calls and the offers, filter them, and bring you only the serious ones, so that nobody disturbs you with calls that go nowhere.

14. How long does it take for the car to sell?

There is no fixed period, as it depends on the model, the condition of the car, and the price being asked. Price is the biggest factor, which is why the pricing consultation during the visit matters.

15. Do I need an account on the app?

Yes, in order to register your car and follow the listing and the offers. Registration is with your mobile number and a verification code sent to you by message.
